Oh! You've Got It
Project Overview

“Oh! You’ve Got It” echoes the core curatorial theme of this exhibition—Taitung Frequencies: Culture in Motion—returning the focus to a shared field of connection grounded in people themselves.

As the ancestral homeland of the Austronesian peoples and a gateway to the Pacific, Taitung holds cultural knowledge and traditions cultivated over thousands of years. These traditions are not static relics of the past. Rather, they continue to live, evolve, and resonate through the everyday practices of Indigenous communities and all those who call this land home. Through daily life, these cultural expressions pulse, grow, and radiate outward.

This exhibition approaches curation as an act of contemporary interpretation. Through music—one of the most powerful and far-reaching forms of cultural expression—we bring together Indigenous vinyl recordings, AI and interactive technologies, thematic installations, and collaborative creations with indigenous communities. Together, these elements explore the many forms Indigenous culture takes in the present day, while highlighting how such acts of interpretation support cultural sovereignty, education, and intergenerational knowledge transmission, composing a cultural frequency uniquely belonging to Taitung.

The exhibition unfolds across three major components: live music presentations, interactive music-technology experiences, and lecture and film salons inspired by Pacific thought and perspectives. Through these encounters, visitors are invited to experience the living pulse of Taitung’s Indigenous cultures—vibrant, evolving, and resonating across communities and across time.

Program Description

“Oh! You’ve Got It” unfolds across three venues within TTICC, using music as its central thread to shape four distinct yet interconnected cultural experiences.

Music Performances |

The outdoor courtyard becomes a living stage where Indigenous singer-songwriters from Taitung, Indigenous cultural groups, and school music and dance ensembles perform throughout the exhibition. More than a concert series, these performances create a contemporary communication across generations, where Indigenous music carries memory, identity, and creative expression into the present.

❷ Vinyl Interactive Experience |

Inside the LIMA EXHIBIT AREA, visitors can engage with interactive technology that reimagines Taitung’s Indigenous vinyl recordings. Through AI-assisted experiences, participants can generate new interpretations of these recordings and create shareable moments that bridge traditional sound archives with contemporary digital culture.

❸ Cultural Documentation Gallery |

Through visual storytelling and infographics, this gallery highlights key initiatives led by the Indigenous Peoples Department of the Taitung County Government over the past eight years. From One Indigenous Community, One Gathering Hall and Winds of Indigenous Dance to broader Pacific Austronesian cultural exchange initiatives, the exhibition reveals how cultural policy, community action, and indigenous knowledge collectively shape the cultural landscape of Taitung.

❹ Cultural Salon |

Held in the EXPERIMENTAL DANCE ROOM, the Cultural Salon offers a space for deeper reflection through Indigenous perspectives. Curated film screenings related to Austronesian and Pacific cultures are accompanied by post-screening conversations, talks, and thematic discussions, inviting audiences to engage with Indigenous culture through communication, storytelling, and shared learning.
