Every physical leap begins from a point of origin. Once the transportation hub of Eastern Taiwan, the Taitung Old Station District has transformed into a new frontier for cultural imagination, redefining the area’s vitality.
The Origin Uprising uses circus and the human body as a starting point to rediscover "where we rise" and "how the body resonates with the land." It is a celebration of play born directly from the earth.
Rather than starting from the city center, we emerge from the fourth quadrant—the most peripheral and liberated space—running toward the Pacific. Here, Taitung’s wind, sound, and soil reconnect the primal senses of the body with performance.
Moving beyond technical displays and rigid structures, we summon wild instincts and the playful nature of the body. Together, in the dialogue between landscape and sound, performers and audience slow down to unleash their wildness, opening new pathways to physical awareness and natural resonance.
This performance deeply intertwines Taitung’s landscape, wind, and sound. Using Cyr wheels and aerial acrobatics, performers etch lines of freedom against the breeze. More than a display of skill, this is a summoning of physical instinct. In every shared breath, performers and the audience will "slow down and get wild," returning circus arts to the primal spirit of play.
As bodies defy gravity and resonate with Taitung’s winds, we redefine the bond between flesh and earth. We invite you to step into this sensory feast grown from the soil. Through the turning of the great wheels and the vantage point of the heights, rediscover a primal resonance with nature and witness the most liberated, untamed "uprising of the body" in Eastern Taiwan.
