As part of the main exhibition area, Kitamachi No. 3 preserves a well-maintained historic space and will serve as a key hub and core node of Taitung Go Sun. In addition to hosting exhibition content, the site will include a service station providing visitor information and assistance, while also functioning as a space for rest and social interaction.
Through the integration of multiple functions, visitors are invited not only to engage with the project content, but also to stay, connect, and experience the cultural atmosphere shaped by the site.
Centered around the former railway station, Tianhou Temple, and the Taitung County Government, the project unfolds across Taitung’s old town living district. Framed as a walking exploration of the historic urban fabric and neighborhood stories, it introduces a new urban tourism identity rooted in the experience of wandering through the old town.
Through integration with LINE Official Account (LINE OA), a digital guide experience connects 30 curated “Sunlit Spots” across the old town as points of memory. Visitors can stroll or cycle through alleyways, scanning on-site markers to unlock stories of local shops and engage in interactive quizzes, gradually collecting a personal “city puzzle” throughout their journey.
Anchored at Beiding No. 3 within the Japanese-era architectural complex, the project extends into the Baosang Road district and the vibrant Central Market, presenting three immersive thematic exhibitions. Through spatial reinterpretation and contemporary cultural narratives, it reactivates the dormant memories and cultural vitality of Taitung’s old town.
