Where is home? Taitung. Young man, come home. This was a conversation while learning pottery from Teacher Hani at the Indigenous Peoples Vocational Training Center before returning home; it was precisely this sentence that touched the heart and led to the decision to go home.

When I first returned home, I tried to make rice bagels with local ingredients; as my steps gradually became steady, the complete outline of origin, table, and tableware in my mind became clearer, wanting all of this to be presented completely through my own hands.

So I returned to Teacher Hani Zaji's side again, starting from indigenous culture to relearn the making of traditional pottery pots. Collecting soil, kneading clay, making the greenware, to firing the kiln, every step is a solid connection to this land. In the process, I deeply understood the foundation of traditional culture and looked for innovative possibilities within it.

Besides kneading in the warmth of the land, I also often stop my steps in various corners of Taitung, quietly watching the scenery before me. The green of the mountains, the blue of the Pacific, and the yellow of the rice waves in the rift valley are transformed into the colors of the glaze, scattered and splashed on every hand-pinched ceramic piece. I hope to create daily tableware that people can use every day, letting every daily meal hold the colors of Taitung.

Named DARE because in the Puyuma language, this means land. Every piece is unique, carrying land and culture into more people's lives.

This is not just a toothbrush holder; it can also be a mountain-shaped pen rest for your desk. Inspired by the magnificent mountain shapes of the Taitung Rift Valley, the delicate ridgelines are hand-pinched for a tactile feel; the glaze colors are taken from Taitung's earthy palette, blending the deep blue of the Pacific and the golden rice stalks of the rift valley into daily objects.

Whether placing toiletries or a beloved fountain pen, you can feel the tranquility and handmade warmth from Eastern Taiwan, adding texture to life.
