Dawu, once known as the “first gateway,” was a passage many people from Taitung crossed when leaving home in search of opportunities elsewhere. Along this route, countless stories of bittersweet partings and reunions unfolded aboard the Golden Horse Bus.
On the historic streets of Dawu, many children dream of their futures, imagining lives full of possibilities like those of the travelers who pass through. Welcome Aboard! The Golden Horse Bus seeks to preserve the stories of this era through interviews and children’s fiction, capturing enduring memories and journeys tied to Taitung and the Golden Horse Bus.
