Much of the Amis people’s knowledge is embedded in everyday language and the memories of family life.
 Centering on the daily Amis prayers practiced by his father as part of his faith, Yang You-Hong explores the connections between language, ethics, and everyday life through the nuances of words, tone, and context.

Through audio fieldwork and the archiving of oral recordings, the project transforms these materials into a local soundscape and a vocabulary index.

By editing everyday conversations with family members into a podcast, the project makes mother-tongue learning a natural part of daily life while enhancing communication in the native language.
