The Unbounded Ocean Project
Sea School: Making Ocean Familiarity Part of Children's DNA
Project Overview

Taitung has the longest coastline in Taiwan, yet not everyone who lives by the sea truly understands it.
The Unbounded Ocean Project brings marine education beyond the classroom and into real waters.

By integrating the Zhuqiao hands-on learning site and the Chenggong exhibition space, and by developing a localized learning resource—Dear Ocean—along with an innovative learning model, the project transforms a traditionally fear-based approach to the ocean into one centered on understanding and connection.

Beyond strengthening students’ water safety and self-rescue skills, it aims to make ocean safety an integral part of everyday life in Taitung.
