Project Overview

While preparing to relocate to Taitung, the team unexpectedly adopted Mark—a stray dog who had been brought to Taipei for adoption at a young age. Carrying the instincts of the mountains yet unfamiliar with rural ways of living, Mark is, in a sense, a “city outsider.”

Mark Be Taitung extends from the action project Mark in Chiayi, serving as a pre-relocation experiment. Through video documentation, connections with pet-friendly businesses and local communities, and neighborhood visits, the project relearns how humans and animals coexist on this land.

In Taitung, where animal-friendly values and slow living shape everyday life, the project explores new possibilities for co-living between humans and animals.
