In recent years, Taitung City has seen the completion of several major public infrastructure projects, including the Taitung County Library, envisioned as a “valley of knowledge,” the newly built Social Welfare Building, and the Environmental Protection Bureau Building, which reflects a commitment to sustainability.

These spaces not only represent a new urban landscape for Taitung, but also embody tangible improvements in residents’ quality of life. However, opportunities for the public to step inside and gain a deeper understanding of their design concepts and operations remain limited.

Inspired by Open House Taipei, this project centers on opening up the city and fostering civic participation. Through walking tours, thematic experiences, and youth-led initiatives, participants are invited to rediscover Taitung, engage with its local context, and spark dialogue and imagination from within these spaces.
